Come on out for an alternative Shabbes featuring a beautiful and well-researched film about the Jews of India, Learn about the different pockets of Jewish Indians and their long history there. After the film, we’ll be joined by the filmmaker, Vanessa Laufer, for a Q&A session. We’ll also light candles and share some challah with secular dedications.

Join the United Jewish People’s Order and the Morris Winchevsky School for our Third Seyder. Our theme this year is Tzedek tzedek tirdof! Justice, justice, we shall pursue! Yosher, yosher, zndqolst nokh-yogn! La djustisya, la djustisya, la persegiras! We will celebrate and honour communities of resistance and mutual aid with music and poetry and liberation stories. This year we are again online, but next year we hope to be in person.

This year for Purim, the Morris Winchevsky Shule will be drawing on our diverse roots with an “Our Stories” theme, and we will be gathering in person. We encourage attendees to dress up as a favourite relative, whether from your own family or your chosen/collective family. We are also inviting all children to bring a photocopy of a family photo which will be made into an art project. And there will be the Purim Shpiel (story), interactive activities and games, special guests, pizza, Hamantashn, and you!
Rad Yiddish X UJPO: Yiddishist Living Library

Rad Yiddish and the United Jewish People’s Order are collaborating in a “Yiddishist Living Library.” The evening will be based on the “Human Library” method where people are the live books and engage with others about Yiddishkeit and Yiddish histories and stories.

January 23, 2022 from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. The business meeting will be preceded by
a dynamic panel discussion on Yiddish and Yiddishkeit from 1:30-2:30. The panel will feature many UJPO community members discussing what Yiddish means to their lives.
