Gaza Activism Solidarity FB banner draft

Hammam Farah and Elizabeth Tsurkov will discuss the current situation for Palestinians in Gaza and the activism of Palestinians, Israeli Jews, and internationals, particularly those based in Canada, towards ending the illegal blockade — and the solidarity created.

Hammam Farah is a long-time Palestinian activist in Toronto and is a member of the Association of Progressive Palestinian Canadians. Farah is a York University alumnus, a board member of the Canadian-Palestinian Educational Exchange and a psychoanalytic therapist-in-training. Born in Gaza, his family’s resilience there is a source of fierce inspiration for him.

Elizabeth Tsurkov earned her B.A. at the Hebrew University, an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies at Tel Aviv University and a second master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Chicago. She currently works for the Education for Peace in Iraq Center in Washington, D.C. and previously with Gisha, Legal Center for Freedom of Movement, an Israeli human rights NGO fighting for the freedom of movement of Palestinians in Gaza.
