This is how you can get involved.
A willingness to learn is all that's required. You don't need to have every listed skill - experience is gained by participating and growing in the role. Committees report to their boards, and you can join any committee at any time; board seats are filled once a year by election at the Annual General Meeting.
UJPO National

Governs national issues, organizational identity, and politics - and preserves our archive, the Montreal cemetery lands, and cultural-programming vision. Chapters and members-at-large serve together.
Cemetery Committee
Cares for our cemetery lands in Toronto and Montreal - respectful upkeep, historical significance, land stewardship, and long-term sustainability.
Org-wide Statement Committee
Examines major political and social issues and drafts the organization's public positions, gathering input from the wider membership.

Governs vision, operations, and financial decision-making for the Toronto chapter and the Shule. Most committees report here.
Membership Committee
Welcomes new individuals - reviews applications, interviews prospective members, and guides a supportive onboarding.
Cultural Programming Committee
Generates ideas for cultural and community events, plans logistics, and helps run them alongside the Director of Culture & Development.
Finance Committee
Supports every board on financial planning, management, performance, and strategy - plus financial ethics and fraud prevention.
Investment Strategy Committee
Researches and presents investment strategy for MWS Board approval, and helps define clear investment objectives and policy.
Human Resources Committee
Our only confidential committee - supports sensitive personnel matters, staff and volunteer conflict, and the grievance process.
Building Committee
Guides all major real-estate matters as we work toward a "forever home," and supports its stewardship once secured.
Accessibility Committee
Identifies, addresses, and removes barriers so people with disabilities can fully participate across programs, spaces, and digital resources.
