This year we reframe Creation and Destruction — Destruction is two years of genocide. Destruction is the silence of our leaders as our ancient forests burn and our skies fill with smoke. But Destruction can also mean the collapse of systems that no longer serve us. The logics of empire twist Creation to mean endless extraction and accumulation without care, without the keeping of history, and without the safeguarding of land and of life. In our hands, Creation is an emergent Jewishness unshackled by the broken conventions of our genocidal institutions, unapologetically growing towards a future rooted in justice, solidarity, and liberation.
