Here Where We Live Is Our Country: The Story of the Jewish Bund

Join the United Jewish People's Order (UJPO), The Jewish Faculty Network (JFN) and Another Story Bookshop for a magical evening with author Molly Crabapple, in conversation with Professor Jason Stanley. 

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Glia, a medical solidarity organization dedicated to providing healthcare in Gaza.

 Both authors will be signing books at the event. The evening will open with a community-led Shabbos ritual, as practiced at the Peoples’ Circle for Palestine.

Molly Crabapple is an artist and writer whose inspirations include Toulouse Lautrec, Diego Rivera and Goya’s ‘The Disasters of War.’ She is the author of the NY Times bestseller, “Here Where We Live is Our Country: The Story of the Jewish Bund,” which was released by One World/Random House in April 2026. 

Jason Stanley is a writer, professor and philosopher. He is the author of seven books and dozens of scholarly articles in multiple disciplines. Stanley is currently the Bissell-Heyd-Associates Chair, American Studies, Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy.

♿ Seating & Mobility Access

• Capacity & Layout: The theatre has 488 seats in total, with 364 in the orchestra and 124 in the balcony.
• Accessible Seating: There are 8 accessible chairs. Wheelchair and mobility device seating is integrated onto the first floor within the orchestra side boxes. There are barrier-free spots on either side of the 14th row from the screen.
• Building Navigation: The main entrance features a curb ramp and automated elevator access to navigate between floor levels.

🚻 Washrooms & Amenities

• Accessible Washroom: There is one accessible gender-neutral washroom located on the main floor. 
• Note on Doors: The accessible washroom door features a lever handle but does not have an automatic push-button. Some patrons requiring mobility devices may need a companion or caregiver's assistance to open or close it.
• Sensory Spaces: A dedicated quiet space is typically available on the 2nd floor during festival screenings. Service animals are fully welcome throughout the venue. 

🚇 Transportation & Arrival

• Public Transit: The theatre is located just east of the Museum subway station. However, please note that Museum Station itself is not fully accessible. The closest fully accessible TTC subway station is St. George Station. Alternatively, accessible bus routing is available via the 5 Avenue Rd bus (stopping roughly 170m away at Queen's Park at St. Charles North Side). 
• Drop-offs & Parking: Passenger drop-off is permitted directly in front of the theatre doors on Charles St W. While there is no dedicated venue parking lot, an accessible parking lot is located within 300 metres. Standard parking is available nearby via several municipal Green P lots (on Charles St W, St. Thomas St, and Bay St).
