On Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 2:30 PM, we invite you to an exclusive matinee screening of NO OTHER LAND (2024), a film created by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists: Basel Adra, Yuval Avraham, Hamdan Ballal, and Rachel Szor. This unique and intimate event aims to raise funds for families and students in the Masafer Yatta region of the West Bank, the film's setting. As the film has yet to be picked up for distribution, this screening presents a valuable opportunity for us to watch, discuss, and reflect on the lives and conditions of the people living in Masafer Yatta. Synopsis

Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta, has been fighting against his community's mass expulsion by the Israeli occupation since childhood. Basel documents the gradual erasure of Masafer Yatta as soldiers destroy the homes of families—the largest single act of forced transfer ever carried out in the occupied West Bank. He crosses paths with Yuval, an Israeli journalist who joins his struggle, and for over half a decade, they fight against the expulsion while growing closer. Their stark inequality haunts their complex bond: Basel, living under a brutal military occupation, and Yuval, unrestricted and free. This film, created by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists (Basel Adra, Yuval Avraham, Hamdan Ballal, and Rachel Szor), was co-produced during the darkest and most terrifying times in the region as an act of creative resistance to Apartheid and a search for a path toward equity and justice.

Fundraising

All costs of the screening have been covered, so the fundraiser will send 100% of ticket sales directly to the Masafer Yatta region to support families living under occupation and apartheid and facing constant violence by Israeli settlers and soldiers. Tickets are available at a pay-what-you-can (PWYC) range. Please be generous; if you can, consider donating more to cover a lower-income person attending. If you cannot afford a ticket but would like to attend, please contact organizers.

Panel

Following the film, a panel discussion will feature local community organizers discussing Palestinian solidarity organizing in Toronto. More details will be shared with ticket holders.

Accessibility

Innis College is accessible on the main floor, including Town Hall. There are four dedicated spaces for assistive mobility devices at the rear of Town Hall, and the theatre has power-assisted doors for full access. Please note: while the stage is accessible, stage doors are not power assisted. Assistive-listening devices are also available. An accessible gender-neutral washroom is located on the third floor of the east wing.
