DESCRIPTION:No Place To Run To: UJPO 100th Contemporary Art Auction \nAs part of this year’s Big and Beautiful United Jewish People’s Order 100th Birthday celebrations\, we are hosting our first ever contemporary art show and auction\, featuring amazing\, cutting edge artworks\, generously donated to us by a group of brilliant creators. \nABOUT THE AUCTION: \nYes\, this is a fundraiser for UJPO\, to help us grow and thrive as Canada’s cultural\, activist and educational home for the Jewish Left\, but it is also an amazing opportunity to purchase some wonderful art\, by wonderful artists. \nHOW IT WORKS: \n-To bid on items ahead of our April 21st art show\, CLICK HERE. Winning bidders can pick up their pieces in person at Gallery TPW at the end of the evening on April 21st (see below) or contact us for delivery to your door. \n-Auction closes at 8:30 pm on April 21\, 2026.  \n–We strongly encourage all auction bidders to attend our art show in person\, at Gallery TPW\, on April 21\, to see and bid on the art. Whether you bid on art or not\, come and enjoy snacks and drinks\, and engage with our community directly. It promises to be a great evening. Come mingle with the artists! \nWe will be launching a new commissioned work\, honouring UJPO’s big 100. This limited-run\, affordable Commemorative Hankie\, is designed by none other than the great Joey Nicholson-Landau and printed by the Oasis Skateboard Factory. \nWHEN: Tuesday\, April 21\, 7:00pm – 9:00pm \nWHERE: Gallery TPW\, 170 St Helens Ave\, Toronto\, ON \nACCESSIBLITY NOTES: Gallery TPW does have ramp access\, an accessible ground-floor washroom\, and clear\, unobstructed pathways within the gallery. DESCRIPTION:The United Jewish People’s Order\, Canada’s Home for the Jewish Left\, is thrilled to announce our official Centenary Celebration Event: Joy and Struggle – 100 years of UJPO! \nTo properly mark this incredible National milestone\, we have put together a truly amazing show\, featuring\, live and in-person: \n\nAuthor and internationally lauded activist\, Naomi Klein\nThe return of the legendary Toronto Jewish Folk Choir (TJFC)\nFrom Vancouver\, punk-folk legend Geoff Berner\nFrom Montreal and Toronto\, beloved singer-songwriter Rae Spoon\n\nWhat: Joy and Struggle – 100 Years of UJPO \nWhere: Trinity St. Paul’s United Church\, 427 Bloor St W\, Toronto \nWhen: 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm) \nTickets: CLICK HERE \nWhile kids are welcome\, there won’t be any dedicated child-care provided. \nAccess Notes: \n\nTrinity St Paul’s is a fully accessible space.\nWe will provide a designated area with reduced seating capacity for those who prefer or need more space from their neighbours.\nOur bedrock policy is that no one gets turned away. If you require subsidy\, please contact info@ujpo.org.\nMasks required whenever possible\n— Please wear a K95 or equivalent respirator (Some musicians of course won’t be able to be masked\, but the more masked participants\, the more we keep each other safe.)\n— We will have some at the door if you forget to bring yours.\n— Please note that the rest of the building outside the workshop will likely have unmasked individuals and there may be unmasked individuals at this event who have talked to us ahead of time about not being able to mask.\n— We operate under the understanding that when the vast majority of people in a space are masked\, this reduces risk of transmission many-fold and makes it possible for more vulnerable folks in our community to attend our events.
