Join the Morris Winchevsky Centre and the United Jewish People’s Order for a night of schmoozing and connecting to land, culture, and food justice through an interactive, intergenerational cooking night. The event will include a live interactive cooking lesson with Jewish Chef, Sari Papular, RNCP who will be guiding us on how to cook Moroccan Chraime and Couscous for shabbes! We will also be joined by a very special guest speaker, tattooest Joey Ramona, who will talk about food insecurity in Toronto and ideas for action that all of us can take, building on the mutual aid groups that have sprung up in the shadow of the current pandemic.

*Very important information!*

We encourage participants to join in the cooking fun and most importantly the noshing! Or simply join for community fun, even if you don't feel like cooking!

  • Once you register, look out for the zoom confirmation email where you will find the shopping list for the shabbes meal. Note: you can also download the recipe in the link above.

  • We recommend participants to set up their laptop, phone, or tablet before the workshop in your kitchen where it is most convenient.

  • Please measure, chop, and layout all the ingredients prior to the event.

Other than that, Sari will take over once the event starts and you will soon be smelling the delicious meal in your own home and we will talk about community care and food insecurity with Joey.
