ABOUT THE WINCHEVSKY CENTRE
The Winchevsky Centre is a progressive secular Jewish community centre offering cultural and educational programs which emphasize Jewish history and traditions, reflect a secular humanist philosophy and uphold progressive social activism as a guiding principle.
Our programs focus on secular celebrations of Jewish holidays, progressive Jewish cultural events, commemorations of our history of resisting oppression, and educational forums on current struggles for social justice.
Our doors are open and welcoming to people of different cultures, genders, sexual orientation and beliefs. We sponsor lectures and forums, and are active in social justice campaigns and networks. Through our various stimulating programs, our community members connect with like-minded people, and develop an ever-deepening sense of identity and pride in the Jewish people.
We offer an exciting, enriching and progressive community within which to express and embrace our legacy our rich secular Jewish heritage.
