Celebrate the harvest and learn about the importance of food security at The Winchevsky Centre's outdoor community celebration of the Jewish harvest holiday Sukkes. This family-friendly event takes place on Saturday September 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Camp Naivelt, 8596 Creditview Road in Brampton, Ontario.
People of all ages will enjoy fun and interactive activities including: decorating our sukkah, a scavenger hunt, nature walk, holiday music, stories and treats. Guest speaker Charles Levkoe will lead an interactive tasting experience of local produce, where participants will learn about the work and challenges of local growers and the impact on the global food system. This event is part of Culture Days.
