Peace Tea with Robert Massoud
Sunday August 8

The Naivelt Peace Tea is held each year to commemorate the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th and 8th, 1945. Joining vigils and peace marches held around the world, the tea is to remind ourselves of the human suffering and destruction inflicted by war and to renew our commitment to work for peace and justice in a nuclear free world. Guest speaker will be Robert Massoud, the founder of Zatoun, an organization which has brought together hundreds if not thousands of people from across the country to work as individuals and in groups to promote and sell olive oil produced by Palestinian farmers. Robert received the 2004 YMCA Peace Medallion for Metropolitan Toronto, primarily on the strength of the work on Zatoun.
