The Toronto Jewish Choir, Canada's oldest continuing Jewish choral group, celebrates its 82nd annual spring concert under the baton of conductor Alexander Veprinsky.
This year's concert features the lively work about a boy's passion for the violin "Oyfn Fidl" (On the Fiddle), by composer Vladimir Heifetz, based on the short story by Sholem Aleichem. The concert will also mark Israel's 60th anniversary.
Violinists Lyrit Milgram and Eitan Postavsky, cellist Hannah Belvedere, flautist Chris James and clarinetist Alexander Fedorovsky join the choir as special guest artists.
Tickets are $23.00; Seniors/Students: $19.00; Children 12 and under: free. For tickets, e-mail tjfolkchoir@sympatico.ca or call 416-636-0936 (evenings, weekends) or 416-665-7766, ext. 224.
